Please read all rules prior to planning your float and/or associated activities. 

Forms received on or prior to November 21, 2026 will have an entry fee of $35 or $15 for not-for-profit organizations/Fire Departments.

Forms received after November 21, 2026 will have an entry fee of $40 or $20 for not-for-profit organization/Fire Departments.

 

The parade will be limited to the first 100 entries.

Please keep in mind that we will be giving away awards in three categories. We are encouraging parade participants to use lights, music and chicken wire to bring the holiday parade to life. The Grand Marshal's Award will focus on those floats that decorate closest to the parade theme. The Mayor’s Choice Award will focus on the use of lights and the Uptown Choice will be chosen based on the most original float.

Parade Information

  • The parade route will be the same as 2025. It will start at Jefferson St. and High St, proceed down South High to Main St. and will end down at Morgan St.

  • Line up for the event begins at 3:30PM. Floats that want to be considered for the award must be set up fully by 4:15 for judging. 

  • An email will be sent out Tuesday, December 1st with lineup information

  • In preparation for and on the day of the event, the Parade Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.

  • The parade will begin at approximately 5:00pm.



 

Parade Rules

  • The parade is limited to the first 100 entries.  

  • All entries should display the name of the organization or group. 

  • NO entries on the day of the parade. 

  • NO LIVE SANTAS ON ANY FLOAT! (We have Santa riding at the end of the parade)

  • Absolutely NO candy can be thrown from any float or moving vehicle. This is by order of the police.

  • Every float must have a fire extinguisher.

  • NO OPEN FLAMES!

  • Motorcycle riders must wear helmets and observe safe driving practices.

  • Every vehicle must be registered.

  • We encourage all participants to incorporate Christmas lights, music and chicken wire.

  • If you have live animals you must provide clean up.

  • Participants without headlights should have an escort vehicle meet them at the end of the parade route.

  • FLOATS or PARADE PARTICIPANTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO STOP ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE to ensure no gaps during the parade.


 

 Cancellation

In the event that we would need to cancel or reschedule the parade, information will be released on local radio stations, http://www.uptownjackson.org and other local media outlets. Please include your contact information for the day of the parade on the entry form in case of cancellation or postponement.

Please note that entry fees are non-refundable. UJRO sincerely appreciates your support and contribution to our organization. Thank you for being a part of our community.
