Oktoberfest 2025: Our Biggest One Yet! 🍻

ree

What a weekend, Uptown Jackson! This year’s Oktoberfest was our biggest and best yet — full of perfect weather, great food, cold drinks, and nonstop fun.

Friday Night Lights & Festivities

We kicked things off Friday night with a local favorite — the Jackson vs. Cape game, where the Jackson Indians brought home the win! 🏈 The crowd celebrated in true Oktoberfest spirit — enjoying good food, great company, and plenty of beer under clear fall skies. Huge thanks to Penzel Construction for donating the big screen to us for this!

Saturday: Sun, Fun, and German Flavor

Saturday morning started strong with sunshine and smiles all around. The day kicked off with our German Food Competition, and congratulations to The German Cook, this year’s champion! Their delicious dishes set the tone for a day full of fun.

We also welcomed the most food and craft vendors we’ve ever had, filling Uptown with amazing smells, local goods, and handcrafted treasures. 🛍️

Crowds gathered for one of our most beloved traditions — the Pet Parade (sponsored by Montgomery Bank) and Wiener Dog Races (sponsored by Sam's Fine Jewelry). Those tiny runners never disappoint, racing their hearts out and bringing joy to everyone watching. A huge thank-you to Pet Supplies Plus and The Cat and Hound for sponsoring prizes for our furry contestants. 🐾

Fun for the Kids

Our Kids Zone was hopping all weekend long! The bounce houses were busy nonstop, and on Saturday, Ken’s Ace Hardware generously donated pumpkins for kids to paint and take home. 🎃 It was the perfect mix of creativity, laughter, and fall fun for our youngest festival-goers!

New This Year: The German Games 🇩🇪

This year, we introduced a brand-new event — the German Games, and they were a hit!

  • Contestants started with Das Boot, racing to see who could down their beer the fastest.

  • Then came the Keg Roll, which quickly became a crowd favorite as kegs rumbled up Barton Street. The fastest man (Marc) finished in an incredible 14.8 seconds, and the fastest woman (our very own Jess) at 19.8 seconds!

  • Prizes included custom, one-of-a-kind steins handcrafted by Fox Stoneware and donated by Hubble Creek Brewing — true collector’s items!

We also held our ever-popular Stein Hoisting Competition, sponsored by Sam Adams and Kohlfeld Distributing. Competitors’ arms were shaking, but their spirits (and steins!) stayed strong. 💪🍺

Live Music & Evening Vibes

As the sun went down, the music turned up. Chris Welch got the crowd moving before John D. Hale took the stage for an unforgettable set that closed out the night in true Oktoberfest style. 🎶

Thank You, Jackson!

Our community showed up in a big way — we actually sold out of steins by early evening and nearly ran out of beer! 🍻 Your support blew us away, and we’re already planning to come back bigger and better next year with new merch, new steins, and even more fun.

Oktoberfest is Uptown Jackson Revitalization Organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year, helping us continue to improve our district through:🌸 Facade grants🌳 Beautification projects🎨 New murals and community enhancements

A Final Cheers to Our Sponsors & Committee

We truly couldn’t do this without our amazing sponsors and our dedicated committee members. Their teamwork, creativity, and passion make Oktoberfest happen — and make Uptown Jackson such a special place to celebrate.

We're already starting plans for next year...until then… Prost! 🍺
