Meet the Owner: Kelsey Dodd

At the heart of Sander Taxes is Kelsey Dodd, a proud mother of three, wife, and seasoned tax professional with over 8 years of experience. Kelsey took over the business after being given the opportunity to step into an ownership role—a decision that felt natural, given the legacy of entrepreneurship in her family.

"Sander Taxes is a family business," says Kelsey. "My grandmother, Julia Sander, started it from her home in 2001. Now my mom, Cheryl Sander, and I work together in our new office space—it’s still very much a family effort."

A Longstanding Legacy in Uptown

Choosing Uptown Jackson as their home wasn’t just a business decision—it was a homecoming. The Sander family has deep roots in the area. The family’s entrepreneurial story began with Albert Sander Hardware Co., opened in 1933. Kelsey’s grandmother later opened Judy’s, a well-loved dress shop that operated for 18 years in the space where Fringe now resides.

When the opportunity came to move Sander Taxes into Uptown, the decision felt like a full-circle moment.
