We’re thrilled to introduce one of Uptown Jackson’s newest businesses — Kati Minson Photography, a full-service photography studio offering everything from weddings and newborn portraits to family, senior, marketing, and studio sessions.

Kati officially opened her studio in March 2025 at 130 South High Street, Suite 103, right in the heart of Uptown. And yes — she’s just steps away from Ground-About, which she says is home to the best coffee around!

About Kati

Kati is more than just a photographer — she’s a people person through and through. In addition to running her business, she’s also a teacher in the Jackson R-2 School District, a mom to two energetic boys, and a wife to what she calls “the best husband in the world.”

She’s been behind the camera for years, but this spring decided it was time to take the leap and create a space of her own. “I was ready for somewhere I could let my creativity blossom,” she says.

Why Uptown?

When deciding where to open her studio, Uptown was a natural choice. “I love the great community environment and central location in Jackson,” Kati shares. “Plus, I’d love to work with the various Uptown businesses and be part of community events.”

A Hometown Connection

Born and raised in Jackson, Kati and her family spent a few years in Kansas City for her husband’s job, where they became avid Chiefs fans (go Chiefs!). They eventually returned home to be close to family and friends — and now Kati is excited to plant her business roots here, too.
